I always wanted to try a bunch of different things when I was growing up. Hobbies, sports, academic stuff, whatever. Like most kids, probably. My mom would always counter certain things with “oh, well, you won’t be good at that because I wasn’t good at that” or insist that I stick to things she…
I’ve always admired people who took control of their identity. Like consciously made choices about who they are as a person and what that means to them. Whereas I sometimes feel that if I even change my hair too drastically I won’t know ‘who I am’.
I think many of my choices in life stem from this subconscious idea of staying true to myself which means that I must deep down believe there is a ‘true me’ and if I only try hard enough I’ll find it and then I’ll know my Purpose for existing. Changing means admitting that’s not true and then I have to take responsibility for creating the ‘true me’ which leaves me open to judgement which leaves me vulnerable which is an uncomfortable place for me to be. I guess that’s who I am then. An overly cautious person.
I can’t stop laughing at Harry running the fuck away, the boy who lived ladies and gentlemen.
….You realize, of course, that Hermione Granger lit a teacher on fire when she was eleven, and kept a person alive in a jar for a year when she was fourteen, and studies dark and forbidden magics for kicks, and is one of the brightest and strongest witches of her era. If she came at me, even wandless, I would aparate to Neptune to get away from her.
Hermione Granger also:
- punched Draco Malfoy in the nose for being an idiot
- purposefully performed a confundus charm on whatshsface WHILE HE WAS FLYING just so Ron would win (omfg that is so fucking dangerous)
- literally pulled a fucking Bourne Identity on her parents and managed to set them up in fucking Australia (jesus christ she literally made it so that she NEVER EXISTED wtf that’s so fucking 007)
- Convinced the Ministry of Magic to give her an incredibly dangerous and volatile device that allowed her to ALTER TIMELINES COMPLETELY (just because she was so smart, literally, that is the reason, her “potential”)
- Has enough basic survival skills and badass magic to literally disappear to the middle of nowhere and flourish AND figure out Voldemort’s plot with Harry
- Hermione also figures out not only what Voldemort’s plan is, but generally how to beat it, WAY BEFORE VOLDEMORT EVER DOES. Why? because she is just that much smarter and better at magic than everybody else
in conclusion: Voldemort wishes he could be as awesome as Hermione, that’s why he wants to kill her so bad.
Can we rehave this series with hermione as the protagonist.

It’s finally done! A retrospective on The LBD Journey. Which IMO includes the show itself, the transmedia, the fandom and the LBD team. I tried to reflect that in the video. It may be leaning on the sappy side, but I hope you enjoy it. :)
In true LBDEDA fashion, this uploaded two days after April ended…but I started working on it last month so I’m counting it! And I was mostly set back by rendering…and it crashed a couple times v.v At one point there are 50 video files in one frame! I’m pretty sure my computer fan is going to sue me for violating labour laws. :/

I don’t think I’ve ever said anything worthwhile before midnight. I think there’s something to be said about the idea that being awake for a certain amount of time changes the way you think. I’m far more open and self-aware the longer I’m awake. I mean, yes, being tired at night or drinking at…
I completely relate to this. I probably have more imaginary ‘real’ conversations with imagined ‘real’ people than real conversations with real people. (As in I will practice in my head, in great detail, what I would say to someone else and then the other person’s possible responses and then how I would respond to that until I have had the perfect imagined conversation where I have bared my soul to someone else …and then never say an actual word in reality.)

State of the Sundry
I want more Thoughts from Felicia…DAYly Thoughts? Amiright? Anybody? Day - ly…ok I’ll go…
I didn’t go, I stayed, Felicia feels very similar about the word Geek than I do about the word Nerd. It’s weird when communities and ideas become bigger than the words that we use to describe them. And it’s really annoying when those words become hollow labels and individuals start to feel abandoned by their own identities.
Which is why Nerdfighter is great, because no one in Hollywood will ever going to use that word as a marketing gimick, it’s just too weird. And also, it’s weird enough that it gets to define itself and redefine itself all the time, and in each and every person’s individual head.
In any case, I’m super excited about the next season of Geek and Sundry, I believe I will be on a future episode of Table Top (which I missed out on last year because we were on tour while they were filming) and I am SUPER EXCITED about that.
Geek and Sundry is probably my favorite multi-show network and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they’ve got coming next year.
Hollywood may never have targeted nerdfighteria, but I HAVE been on Facebook and seen ‘Nerdfighter’-targeted ads for completely unrelated things.
The Five Biggest Days in LBD Fandom History
On April 9, 2012, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries started. In total, it now has over 9 1/2 hours of video content.
But! It’s not just a web series. It has transmedia components and a friendly and approachable creative team and a wonderfully fun fandom that started off strong and has only grown larger since then.
And I think the experience of being an LBD fan can be summed up in 5 days.

I’m going to do one of those “reblog this post and then I will randomly pick someone and mail you stuff” doohickeys. I wanted to do something fun that would maybe, possibly take a teeny tiny bit of the sting out of the end. I’m putting the deadline info behind a cut so that people who are avoiding that information can continue to avoid it.

Like buying her a whole store! Not of porn, get your man-banana mind out of the gutter. But take a look at her clothing (or maybe have Gigi look at it…your fashion sense is a little…outdated). They all seem to be from the same chain. The way to Lizzie’s heart…is to buy her her own personal Anthropologie store! Best of luck with your future business ventures ;)
